Statement:
I live
in Powder Springs, GA having moved to Georgia in 1999 from
Stockton, California.
I started
working on my art degree by attending the Academy of At College
in San Francisco, California; although I moved to Georgia
before completing my degree I have continued my studies by
taking workshops.
I usually
paint in oil which is my preferred medium. The paintings that
I do are usually portraits; because I find people fascinating
and challenging.
Before
I start painting I usually take a few moments to get to know
the subject by studying them.
This allows me to get a feeling for the personality of the
person and to tell their story.

Statement:
I
have painted since I was very young and always knew I wanted
to be an artist. After college I moved to San Francisco, then
back to Minnesota, and now I live in Atlanta, Georgia. I have
been in many solo and group art shows along the way. Currently
doing shows and art fairs in the Atlanta, GA area. I don't
pursue brick and mortar galleries because I believe the future
of art buying is online galleries and in person sales at art
fairs. I do a few art fairs every summer to promote my art
and find out what the public is feeling about art.

Statement:
I
have always been fascinated with depicting the beauty of natural
light falling on objects, the brilliance of natures
creation, and the color harmonies and contrasts possible to
perceive, distill and express on paper or canvas. I have a
special love of portraying plants sitting in windows absorbing
life and light. I also enjoy painting en plein aire, seeking
out with fellow artists beautiful local spots for subjects,
as well as returning to my New England roots from time to
time to portray the beautiful rural area where I grew up.
